The State University of Zanzibar (SUZA) has officially signed an agreement with Emirates Company Ltd. for the construction of a four-story female student dormitory, funded by the Revolutionary Government of Zanzibar.
This landmark development aligns with the Eighth-Phase Government’s priorities under President Dr. Hussein Ali Mwinyi, reinforcing the commitment to expanding educational opportunities and creating a conducive learning environment for all students.
Project Overview
The new dormitory, to be managed by Arqes Africa, will accommodate 500 female students at a time. Construction will commence immediately following the signing and is expected to be completed within 15 months.
The total cost of the project stands at TZS 10.354 billion, ensuring the provision of a modern, safe, and accessible living space for students, including those with special needs. The dormitory will be located at SUZA’s Tunguu Campus in the South Unguja region.
