The Ministry of Education in Kenya recently marked 2025 International Education Day by making significant strides in enhancing the country’s educational infrastructure.
Education Cabinet Secretary Hon. Julius Migos, EBS, commissioned eight newly constructed junior school classrooms at Mghambonyi Comprehensive School and a tuition block at Mbauro Comprehensive School, located in Wundanyi Sub-County, Taita Taveta County.
This ceremony, held on Friday, further underscored the government’s dedication to improving educational facilities across the nation.
As part of the celebrations, Hon. Julius Migos emphasized the vital role of education in shaping the future of Kenya’s youth. He urged students to take full advantage of the July examination series, which has become a critical innovation in the national education calendar.
The new examination system is designed to provide more opportunities for students to improve their academic qualifications, helping them to overcome challenges in their educational progression.

Aligned with the theme of International Education Day 2025—”AI and Education: Preserving Human Agency in a World of Automation”—CS Ogamba highlighted the importance of technology in shaping the future of education. However, he was also keen to caution against the potential misuse of technology, particularly when it leads to negative behaviors or criminality. “Technology is a powerful tool that can propel you forward, but it must be used responsibly,” he stated, underscoring the necessity of maintaining ethical standards in the digital age.
In a nod to inclusivity, Hon. Ogamba also called on parents to register their children under the Taifa Care Programme and enlist their school-going children as dependents.

Continuing his working tour, CS Ogamba commissioned newly constructed junior school classrooms at Mwanyambo Comprehensive School in Voi, further expanding the educational resources available in the region.
This visit was marked by the attendance of notable leaders, including Hon. Danson Mwashako Mwakuwona, the Member of Parliament for Wundanyi Constituency, and Hon. Khamis Chome Abdiwas, the Member of Parliament for Voi Constituency.
