St. John’s University of Tanzania (SJUT) proudly upholds leadership continuity and institutional stability with the re-appointment of Prof. Casmir M. Rubagumya as the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Planning, Finance, and Administration).

This decision, made by Chancellor Archbishop (Retired) Donald Leo Mtetemela, reflects the university’s commitment to sustained academic and administrative excellence.

A Strategic Decision in Line with University Charter

The re-appointment aligns with Rule 15(1) of the First Schedule of the St. John’s University of Tanzania Charter, 2008. This legal framework ensures a structured and merit-based leadership approach, reinforcing SJUT’s governance integrity.

Effective from November 26, 2024, to August 31, 2025, Prof. Rubagumya’s second tenure is expected to strengthen the university’s financial and administrative framework, further advancing strategic planning, fiscal responsibility, and institutional development.

Prof. Rubagumya’s extensive experience and leadership have been instrumental in driving SJUT’s financial sustainability and administrative efficiency.
