UDOM Elevates Professionalism with Specialized Training in Protocol and Decorum

The University of Dodoma (UDOM), through the College of Humanities and Social Sciences (CHSS), has launched a specialized short-term training program on Professional Protocol and Decorum.

The training, which runs from January 28 to January 31, 2025, aims to enhance the skills and expertise of government and private sector employees by equipping them with up-to-date knowledge essential for maintaining professionalism and etiquette in their respective fields.

Strengthening Institutional Competence in Protocol and Etiquette

During the opening ceremony at the CHSS Conference Hall, the Dean of the College of Humanities and Social Sciences, Prof. Albino Tenge, emphasized the significance of the training in developing professional competencies among employees. He stated:

“We appreciate your decision to join this training at the University of Dodoma. It is an honor for us to facilitate such an important program. We believe that by the end of this training, participants will have gained invaluable insights that will enhance their expertise in protocol, etiquette, and professional decorum.”

This initiative underscores UDOM’s commitment to providing practical knowledge and advanced skills that align with the evolving demands of modern workplaces.

A Transformative Learning Experience for Government and Private Sector Employees

Dr. Parestico Pastory, the Head of the Department of Political Science and Public Administration at CHSS, highlighted the diversity of participants, noting that 25 professionals from both mainland Tanzania and Zanzibar are taking part in the program. He further reaffirmed UDOM’s dedication to continuous learning and professional development, stating:

“Through our department, we will continue offering periodic training programs as part of our Leadership Development Initiative. This initiative aims to strengthen the capabilities of government officials and private sector employees, reinforcing our responsibility to serve the community by fostering leadership excellence.”

Commitment to Lifelong Learning and Professional Excellence

UDOM remains a pioneer in executive education, offering specialized training tailored to meet the needs of professionals in different sectors.

By bridging the knowledge gap in protocol, diplomatic etiquette, and decorum, this initiative reinforces the university’s role in shaping well-rounded leaders who can navigate the complexities of modern governance and business environments.

As UDOM continues to expand its academic and professional training portfolio, the Protocol and Civil Conduct Skills Training sets a precedent for future programs aimed at fostering leadership, discipline, and ethical professionalism.
